Dharmendra’s Prayer Meet: Hema Malini and Daughters Absent as Prakash Hosts Condolence Meet

Mumbai, Nov 28, 2025: The Deol family is going through a very emotional time. Dharmendra, the pillar of the family and a Bollywood legend, passed away on November 24. His long career and strong screen presence brought great fame, and his loss has left a big void in the industry.

To honor him, the family held a prayer meeting in Bandra, Mumbai, called a “Celebration of Life.” Many Bollywood stars and family members attended. However, Dharmendra’s second wife, Hema Malini, and his daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, were not present.

Prayer Meetings

Dharmendra’s first wife, Prakash Kaur, along with sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, organised the prayer meeting at Taj Lands in Mumbai. According to an NDTV report, the event was managed fully by the senior Deol family, and Hema Malini was not involved. This has led to talk that both families held separate prayer meetings. While Hema Malini did not attend the one hosted by Prakash Kaur and the Deol family, many Bollywood celebrities were present.

Bollywood Stars Attend Dharmendra’s Prayer Meeting

Many Bollywood celebrities attended the prayer meeting held for Dharmendra. Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Siddharth Malhotra, Rajat Bedi, Shabana Azmi, Divya Dutta, Mukesh Khanna, Sonu Sood, Jaya Prada, and Ameesha Patel were among those present.

Singer Sonu Nigam also attended the event and sang some of Dharmendra’s favourite songs as a tribute.

Hema Malini Held a Separate Prayer Meet

Hema Malini also organised a prayer meeting at her home to pay tribute to Dharmendra. Two priests were seen outside her residence, and her cousin Madhu was also present. Several stars, including Boney Kapoor, Mahima Chaudhary, Sunita Ahuja, and Yashvardhan Ahuja, later visited her home.

Hema Malini also shared emotional posts for Dharmendra during the day.
