Dhurandhar Trends at No 1 on Netflix Pakistan Despite Theatrical Ban

January 2, 2026: Dhurandhar has become one of the most successful Indian films of all time, earning strong numbers both in India and overseas. This is notable because the film did not have a theatrical release in the Gulf countries or Pakistan, markets that are usually important for Hindi cinema’s global earnings.

Despite this, the Aditya Dhar-directed film earned over Rs 1,300 crore overseas. Now that Dhurandhar has been released on Netflix, and reportedly in Pakistan as well, it has been trending at the top on OTT platforms, according to HT (Hindustan Times), even though it was banned in theatres there.

After the worldwide Netflix release, the film quickly reached the top of streaming charts in many countries. In Pakistan, many viewers are watching Dhurandhar and trying to understand why it has been called “controversial.”

Dhurandhar Tops Netflix Pakistan Charts

Screenshots showing Dhurandhar trending at number one in the films category on Netflix Pakistan surfaced on social media over the weekend. The Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna-starrer surpassed other Bollywood films like Tere Ishk Mein, Haq, and The Big Fake.

Danish Pandor Speaks on Gulf Release

Danish Pandor, who played Uzair Baloch, Akshaye Khanna's brother in Dhurandhar, talked about the film’s reported ban in Gulf countries. He told India TV, "It should be released. That's what I believe. I spoke to people as well, but I don't know the real reason behind it not being released in the UAE or other Gulf countries. But if the film had opened there, it would have been extremely big."

He added, "I hope it releases soon. My friends and many people are asking why Dhurandhar is not releasing in the Gulf. I don’t know the reason, but I would definitely want them to watch it. Maybe they should wait for it to stream on Netflix. Hopefully, it releases there too."

Dhurandhar Part 2 Release Date

Dhurandhar Part 2 is scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, and will clash at the box office with Yash's Toxic.
