"Sonam, It's Done, Bro": Salman Khan Urges Sonam Wangchuk to End Fast Amid CJP Protest in Delhi

July 24, 2026: Actor Salman Khan has once again voiced his support for students protesting the alleged NEET paper leak in Delhi. In a social media post shared on Thursday, the actor appealed to the students to return home, saying they should not have to worry about their safety or leave their parents anxious. He expressed confidence that the government would take strict action against those responsible for the alleged paper leak.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent statement on the issue, Salman said students should trust the assurance given by the government. He wrote, "The students are at top priority, educationally and security-wise, so they need not worry and have their parents worried for them. The Honourable Prime Minister has tweeted, and I am sure that he will take strict action against all those people who are responsible for this leak. So students, please go back to your parents and homes."

The actor's latest message came a day after he publicly backed the students' movement and described the alleged paper leak as a "very serious issue." He had also urged that the protest should remain peaceful and should not be turned into a political issue.

Salman Khan Asks Sonam Wangchuk to End His Hunger Strike

Apart from addressing the students, Salman also shared a heartfelt message for social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on a hunger strike in support of the protesting students. Wangchuk has been fasting since June 28, demanding accountability over paper leaks and reforms in the education system.

In his post, Salman urged Wangchuk to end his fast, saying the Prime Minister had already assured action on the matter. He also offered to send him home-cooked food. The actor wrote, "Sonam, it's done, bro. Don't extend this. Keep the spirit for another day if there is a need, which I doubt, and eat something. If you want, I will send you food from home."

Salman Khan Calls for Peaceful Protest as More Celebrities Extend Support

This is the second time Salman has spoken publicly on the issue. In his earlier statement, he praised the students for their peaceful protest and called them "courageous and brave." He also warned that the movement should not be "hijacked politically" and said the focus should remain on ensuring justice for students and strengthening the education system.

The actor stressed that the issue was between students and the education system and hoped the government would take the necessary steps to restore trust. He also said he was praying for a positive outcome and a transparent, merit-based education system.

The protests, led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), have continued for more than a month, with students demanding action over the alleged paper leak. The agitation intensified earlier this week during the party's 'Chalo Sansad' march in Delhi, where clashes reportedly broke out between protesters and police.

Several film personalities have also expressed solidarity with the students. Hrithik Roshan, Alia Bhatt, Rajkummar Rao, R. Madhavan, John Cusack, Sonakshi Sinha, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Shabana Azmi, Prakash Raj, Anurag Kashyap, Kareena Kapoor, Mammootty, Omi Vaidya, Zeenat Aman, Abhay Deol, and Riteish Deshmukh have all spoken in support of the students, calling for accountability and reforms in the education system.
