CLEAN BOWLED – is the first project to be launched to Action Udaipur under the aegis of the District Collectorate.

Under the noteworthy Project ‘Action Udaipur’, the city administration will start renovation of the Mohta Park, situated near Chetak Circle.

While heading the project, Ashutosh Pednekar, District Collector informed, “On Saturday 24th May, many social workers and organizations will gather at Mohta Park where we will start a two day cleaning and renovation program.”

‘Action Udaipur’ to begin from Mohta Park

Mohta Park, near Chetak Circle, is a small garden which adds to the beauty of the city and provides a soothing halt to the passers-by.

It was built by Late Seth Shrigopal Mohta. The park was inaugurated on February 24, 1944 by Late Maharaja Sadul Singh of Bikaner. The park has a statue of Late Maharana Bhupal Singh Mewar in the center, who had also delivered the closing speech at the inaugural ceremony. The park was built with an approximate cost of Rs. 35000.

The park was developed for children, small public meetings and get togethers. The garden had a profusion of flowers and huge groves of trees present, which provided a spectacular sight to enjoy. The park also had a stage to address public meetings and swings for the children.

But, in the absence of proper maintenance, the grandeur of this beautiful garden seems to be lost. So, let us join hands together to bring back its past glory.

Volunteers have been requested to assemble at the park at 7am on May 24, 2014. To participate as volunteer in the revival of this site, visit http://www.actionudaipur.com/project/4595027401506816/ and click on “Volunteer Now” option and submit your contact details.

The park will be cleaned and all needed repair work, plantation etc. will be done by the contributors and volunteers among the common citizens of the city.

Pednekar said, “The idea behind involving locals is that, if the citizens themselves clean the garden they will not let it get polluted by anyone.”

Informing more about the project, collector said, “This is the starting phase of Action Udaipur which we are starting from Mohta Park. Consecutively we will cover other public places too which need prompt action.”
