Classical Dance & Music to enchant audience at ‘Malhaar’
The West Zone Cultural Center is going to organize a two-day cultural program ‘Malhaar’ on 22-23 August at Darpan Auditorium, Shilpgram. This program will enthrall audience with Indian classical dance and music.
The West Zone Cultural Center is going to organize a two-day cultural program ‘Malhaar’ on 22-23 August at Darpan Auditorium, Shilpgram. This program will enthrall audience with Indian classical dance and music.
The director of WZCC, Furqan Khan informed that the internationally renowned classical danseuse Manjiri Kiran will spread the magic of her Kathak dance on the first day of the event and on the second, Pt. Rajendra Gangani, recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi Award will mesmerize the people with his Kathak performances.
Khan added that danseuse Kiran has learnt various styles of Kathak from her mentor Kathak Dancer Late Rohini Bhate. After years of learning from her Guru she has today; danced in almost all big and small cities of the country. She has earned the title of ‘Nritya Alankar’ from Gandarbh Mahavidyalaya.
Besides the dance performances, people will enjoy the musical symphonies organized by the Art & Culture Directorate of Government of Goa. Along with that, many emerging performers of Kathak and Bharatnatyam will present dance at the cultural program ‘Malhaar.’
