City jewelers with shops in the Ghanta Ghar , Bada Bazar and Jagdish Chowk area held a meeting with the police department officials today to discuss arrangements for the upcoming festival of Diwali.

City jewelers with shops in the Ghanta Ghar , Bada Bazar and Jagdish Chowk area held a meeting with the police department officials today to discuss arrangements for the upcoming festival of Diwali.

President of Sarafa Market, Inder Singh Mehta along with other jewelry shop owners of the area presented their suggestions on improving the arrangement to combat the increased people movement during Diwali period. Ad SP (City) Laxman Singh, C.O Anant Kumar and Ghanta Ghar Police Station In-charge Nathu Singh were present in the meeting.

Suggestions were made on providing proper traffic and crowd control arrangements. Businessmen demanded that presence of police guards in the area needs to be heightened to keep an eye on suspicious people moving around the area.

Inder Singh Mehta informed that it was also decided in the meeting that all the vehicles kept at the clock tower by police after seizing them will be shifted to some other place to make the roads more spacious. Also, a boundary line will be drawn along the corners of the roads for proper parking and if any vehicle is found parked outside the boundary line, it will be seized.

Nathu Singh, In-Charge Ghanta Ghar police station said that all shop owners who have CCTV cameras have been requested to install a CCTV camera outside their shop so as to keep a check on any suspicious activity on the road.
