The election process for the new committee of Mewar's biggest Muslim Association 'Anjuman Talimul Islam', regulated since 1940 were concluded in Udaipur today.

The election process for the new committee of Mewar’s biggest Muslim Association ‘Anjuman Talimul Islam’, regulated since 1940 were concluded in Udaipur today.

After final count, Mohammad Khalil was declared as Sadar, Rizwan Khan as Secretary and Munnawar Hussain as Nayab Sadar. Mohd. Khalil got 66 votes out of 124. Munnawar Hussain won with 60 votes and Rizwan Khan got 64 votes. Mohd. Waqqar won with 52 votes for the post of Joint Secretary.

The voting, counting and result declaration was held at Bhandari Darshak Mandap situated at Town Hall area of the city. The voting process began at 9 am and continued till 1 in the afternoon.

In the election, around 125 selected members of Anjuman Committees of different Muslim colonies of Udaipur casted their votes. 125 members voted for 4 major positions of the executive committee namely Sadar, Nayab Sadar, Secretary, Nayab Secretary including 7 other committee members, informed by Convener Kamar Husain.

There were 35 total candidates for the designated positions, out of which 3 candidates were for the position of Sadar, 2 for Nayab Sadar’s position, 3 for secretary’s position & 2 candidates for joint secretary position. For the 7 committee members of the Anjuman, total 25 people were standing in the queue, added Kamar.

Kamar further informed that the process of Vote counting began at 2 pm and by 5 pm the results were declared.

The Sadar (Head), Nayab Sadar and others will work for the development and upliftment of the community. They will also work for providing better opportunities of education and jobs to the youth and will try to provide solutions to the problems of the community people, Convener added.
