Pani Bachao: a Seminar on Water Harvesting

A Seminar focusing on water conservation was held today at the Department of Electrical Engineering, M.L.S.U under the banner of National Service Scheme. In the seminar, students along with Dr. P.C. Jain, Medical Doctor & Program Officer of N.S.S emphasized on methods to avoid the wastage of water and the concept of Rain Water harvesting.

A Seminar focusing on water conservation was held today at the Department of Electrical Engineering, M.L.S.U under the banner of National Service Scheme. In the seminar, students along with Dr. P.C. Jain, Medical Doctor & Program Officer of N.S.S emphasized on methods to avoid the wastage of water and the concept of Rain Water harvesting.

In the 30 minute program, which started with a play named as Pani Ke Liye Dulhan Gayi depicts the importance of water. This play shows how, due to lack of water supply, the bride ran away from the Mandap to fill the water.

In the second segment of the seminar, a slide show was displayed to introduce different ways to save water and how to use it at its optimum level.

In the third segment, a presentation given by Dr. P.C Jain on Water Harvesting introduced a new way of shaving using the leaves of alovera plant to save water.

In the fourth and last segment of the program a discussion with students were held where the future predictions on the condition of water in year 2070 were talked about.

Dr. Jain informed UT that he was working on this concept of avoiding wastage of water for the last 15 years and for this he was awarded as an Ambassador of Roof Top Rain Water Harvesting of Udaipur by Bharat Vikas Parishad, Mewar .

He said that the concept of Rain water harvesting was already introduced in our city & the Rain water harvesting plants were already installed in many areas of the town, including the houses of various doctors .
