A commemoration ceremony was held at Siphon on Saturday 19^th April, on the occasion of the third death anniversary of Prakash Khatik, who was martyred in an armed combat with a gang of criminals in 2011.

The program was organized by Shaheed Prakash Khateek Samaroh Samiti.

Prakash Khatik was a police commando and escorting a hardcore criminal when he and his colleagues were attacked by a gang near Bijoliya. Three people including Prakash khateek died in the incident.

Since then, the locals of Bedla formed Shaheed Prakash Khateek Samaroh Samiti to commemorate the sacrifice of the brave police officer.

Yesterday, Prakash khateek’s son Mohit Solanki garlanded his father’s photo and prayed for the departed soul. Thereafter Jeetmal Chouhan, president of the Samiti paid respect to Prakash Khateek.

Chief Secretary of the Samiti, Vinod Sankhla said, “Next year they will install monument of Prakash at Siphon Chouraha.”

The Samiti members also expressed their annoyance as no police officer and colleagues of Prakash, attended the program.
