‘Wild Raaga’ a Wildlife & Nature Photography Exhibition commenced today at RK Mall which opened the world of nature and beautiful species of birds and animals. Organized by The Talon Nature Photography Club of Udaipur, this exhibition will run till 12th January from 11.30 am to 10 pm.

Amit Gupta, one of the founders of the Talon Group said, “The group was initially started by 4 friends Rishi Raj Deval, Vijay Sawnani, Sharad Agrawal and me. Coming from different backgrounds we had the same passion- photography.”

He adds, “3 years back, our common interests made us start The Talon which had 20 members before; now boasts of 80 members. Doctors, engineers, software developers and people from various professions are a part of the group.”

The exhibition set up at RK Mall displays work of 25 group members consisting of photographs of rare and migratory bird species, animals and nature. Only few of them are clicked in Leh, Ladakh and Africa while the rest of the photographs were taken in the Mewar region.

Among the displayed photographs, 8 belong to the newly discovered species of birds that were found in Udaipur. Devendra Mistri, one of the members is a renowned bird conservator who used to mimic birds’ voices in his childhood. He now accompanies his mates and produces voices that attracts the birds in the jungle.

While talking to UT about future plans, Amit said, “The next step is to take photography workshop for kids and to teach them the basics of photography including camera handling, lighting and other technicalities of clicking.”

He adds, “We also want kids to be taught about various bird species and give them information about them to help preserve the endangered ones.”

Following the conversation, Amit in a message to UT readers said, “We want people to know that photography is a vast field in which people can test their skills. The most important skills though required are passion and hard work.”

“Side by side, the need of the hour is to have more conservators to help protect and conserve wildlife and the environment. We concentrate more on birds and keep their conservation as our prime agenda”
