Udaipur Municipal Corporation is using a mixture of pyrethrin and diesel for mosquito control, following the formula recommended by the health department. The solution contains 1 liter of pyrethrin and 19 liters of diesel. However, this fogging method is proving ineffective, as mosquito populations are not decreasing, and new dengue patients are being admitted daily. Private hospitals are also seeing an increase in cases.

Doctors and experts say that mosquitoes come out in the evening and stay indoors for the rest of the day. Therefore, fogging should be done twice before and after sunset to be effective. They also recommend lab testing of the chemicals used in fogging to ensure effectiveness. Additionally, residents should be informed about fogging in their areas so they can close their doors and windows. Experts also advise spraying bleaching powder in drains and garbage piles.
