Rajasthan achieves 100 percent of target for TB-Free India teams in all 361 blocks of State: Principal Secretary of Medical and Health Department
UdaipurTimes, Sept 22, 2026 - Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, said that Rajasthan has achieved 100 percent of its target for the formation of TB-Free India teams which have been formed in all 361 blocks of the State. This is part of the government efforts to eliminate tuberculosis (TB) by involving essential participation from the general public and youth.
The Principal Secretary said that achieving the goal of a TB-free Rajasthan will require the Health Department and all sections of society to work together. With greater participation from young people, awareness about TB can be communicated more effectively at the village and block levels.
Rathore said that 1,805 MY Bharat volunteers and 1,805 NCC cadets have joined these teams. These young volunteers will help create awareness among people in their respective areas about the symptoms of TB, testing and the importance of timely treatment.
Early detection of TB and completion of the full course of treatment are very important, she emphasised. The role of youth in creating awareness among people is crucial. The teams formed at the block level will help take the campaign's message to as many people as possible.
According to data as of September 21, 2026, teams had been formed in 4,686 of the 7,026 blocks across the country, bringing the national-level team formation rate to 67 percent.
