Udaipur, January 6, 2025 - RNT Medical College and Hospital has introduced a unique therapy aimed at reducing both physical and mental stress for cancer patients. The new initiative combines music therapy and psychological counseling.

In the first phase of the program, around 20 speakers have been installed in key areas of the cancer department, including the cancer ward, waiting areas, radiation machine zone, operation theater, and registration areas. Soft music, including spiritual, nature, and classical tunes, is played in these spaces to uplift the patients spirits and reduce stress.

Psychological therapy, in collaboration with the Third Planet Foundation, is also being provided. Professional counselors are offering free sessions to cancer patients and their families, helping them cope with stress and anxiety. So far, around 100 patients have received counseling, with many reporting improvements in managing stress and depression.

Dietitian Services

Looking ahead, the hospital plans to introduce dietitian services to ensure proper nutritional care for cancer patients. Personalized diet charts will be created, and patients will receive guidance on the nutritional value of their food.

Dr. Vipin Mathur, Principal of RNT Medical College, shared that a recent state-level meeting about cancer highlighted the importance of holistic care in improving treatment outcomes. The integration of music and psychological therapie will enhance the quality of care provided to cancer patients.
