Udaipur’s Philatelist Honoured in Asian Book of World Records
Udaipur, August 21, 2025 – Dr Pushpa Khamesra, who has carved a unique niche in the field of stamp collection (philately), has achieved yet another milestone. From her vast collection of more than 500,000 stamps, she has curated a rare collection of approximately 14,900 bird-themed stamps from 372 countries, earning her a place in the Asian Book of World Records.
Earlier, Dr Khamesra’s name had already been recognised in prestigious institutions such as the Limca Book of World Records, London Book of World Records, World Greatest Records and the Golden Book of World Records.
Dr. Khamesra says, “Postage stamps are not just a means to send mail, but also a mirror to the world's culture, nature and history. My goal is to pass on this passion to the younger generation and highlight the importance of biodiversity, especially birds.”
Her remarkable achievement has brought international recognition to Udaipur and the country.
