15 Challans on World No Tobacco Day
The Food & Civil Supplies Department Udaipur and PSI (Population Services International) organized a No Smoking drive at public places today on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day.
The Food & Civil Supplies Department Udaipur and PSI (Population Services International) organized a No Smoking drive at public places today on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day. The team levied penalties on individuals smoking in public places. They also educated people about health hazards of smoking and chewing tobacco.
Anil Bhardawaj, Officer, Food Safety Department, informed, “A squad along with members of PSI reached bus depot and railway station. In the one day drive more than 15 individuals were levied with penalties for smoking in public places.”
Ashutosh Sharma, Program Officer, informed that the drive was organized under COTPA Act 2003, where addicted ones were also educated about the prevention of tobacco. Each individual was levied with a penalty of Rs.100 for overlooking rules & regulations.
