In a nearly fatal accident, two teenage girls were hospitalized today morning with fractures and bruises, after they fell into an open sewage nullah at Ghariyawas area. The girls were moving on their scooty when suddenly they lost control over their vehicle and fell under the nullah with their vehicle.

According to eye witness, both the victim girls Bhavika and Bhumika residents of Ghariyavas were going on their scooty towards market, while passing by the 7-8 feet wide and around 10 feet deep open sewerage Nullah, the girls lost their balance and fell inside with their vehicles.

Local people rushed for their help and pulled both of them out. In the mishap, Bhavika received serious injuries with fractured hand and leg, while Bhumika got internal injuries and shifted to trauma ward of MB Hospital, but later, both were transferred to private hospital.

According to locals of the area, they complained many times about the open Nullah, which is constructed on road level without any boundary wall, but administration neglected their plea.

When contacted, Area Councilor Satyanarayan Mochi said, “we have presented a tender of Rs. 18 Lacs for constructing this nullah, but due to the strike of contractors and increase in the rates of the construction material the work could not done, but now we have again presented another tender in front of the UMC Officials and the work will be started soon.”
