The relatives of a 22 year old Banjara woman staged a protest outside Jeevan Jyoti hospital, Hiran Magri on Thursday demanding compensation from the hospital administration against the death of the woman. The relatives claimed that the woman died a day ago but the staff hid the fact from the relatives causing them a financial loss of around Rs. 1 Lac.

Maya Banjara (22) a resident of Khuti village of Dungarpur district was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition after she sustained severe head injuries in a road accident on August 18 while she was returning to her house with uncle from Mahi Dam. Their bike was hit a speeding truck near Gamda village leading to severe head injuries and later that night at 10.30 PM she was  rushed to Jeevan Jyoti hospital of Hiran Magri of Udaipur by her relatives. After examining the condition of the victim, she was kept on ventilator and during her treatment she died on Thursday afternoon, as per the doctors.

Whereas on the other side the relatives claimed that she has died on Wednesday evening and they were kept in dark by the doctors who consoled them by saying that she was alive. The community members proclaimed that the victim was kept on ventilator even after her death to raise huge bills and so declared her dead on Thursday after the relatives doubted the staff.

While talking about the incidence one of the senior doctors of the hospital Dr Mahesh Bhatnagar informed that the relatives of the injured woman were already intimated about the critical condition of the woman at the time of admission and had kept her on ventilator with very less chances of survival. But on Thursday, the relatives took her to another hospital, returned after few hours demanding compensation and putting allegations on the hospital for her death.

Later upon getting the information, the team of Sukher police rushed to the scene and controlled the situation. SHO Chagan Purohit asked the community members to report the cops regarding the case but so far, no report is lodged till now.
