A two day conference of BSNL employees commenced here in Udaipur on 19th Nov. The program was held in the community hall of Maheshwari Samaj.

On the first day of conference, many issues and complaints of employees were thoroughly discussed in the presence of senior BSNL officials.

The main issue was privatization of the BSNL which is lately proposed by the government. All the employees expressed their objection over the proposal and shared their views and suggestions.

Abhimanyu, General Secretary of BSNL Employees Union said that, they (all employees) are disappointed by the intervention of private companies and held the Government responsible for the miserable condition of the company.

Abhimanyu alleged that due to government’s weak policies, the company is getting effected. Less number of towers, low budget and lack of mobile equipment is decreasing the quality of services provided by BSNL.

He also blamed government for not passing tenders for the installation of mobile towers. Abhimanyu said that the downfall of BSNL started from year 2007-08 when the annual profit was recorded Rs.3009 Crore and in 2008-09 it reduced to Rs.575 Crores and then it subsequently decreased.

The employees union has send notice to the Chairman of BSNL Employees Association in Delhi and a strike is proposed on 3rd February if their demands were not met.
