After rescuing from the clutches of his master in Delhi who assaulted the 12-year-old Karan, a child labourer from Baagpura Jhadol, following the orders of Child Welfare Committee the adolescent child was brought back to Udaipur by the NGO Salaam Balak Trust.

Later, the father of child and his relatives locked the NGO team members and also forcefully tried to take the child in their custody. However, both the team and the child were rescued by Police and now they will leave back to Delhi, where the child will be ensured of proper education.

According to Child Welfare Committee, it was instructed to the NGO to take the child to meet with his family for two days and bring him back, as according to CWC report, the father of child might push him back to labour, though the child wants to study.

On the other side, in a conversation with local media, the child expressed his desire to live with his family.

According to Shambhoo Sharma, NGO worker, the child came to their shelter after he was rescued by Delhi Police. “He was badly beaten by his master Yogendra over a small issue, his two hands were fractured and somehow he ran away from Yogendra’s grip” says, Sharma.

Later, his father was called in front of CWC Delhi and it was ordered to keep the child with Salaam Balak Trust for his future wellbeing, but also allowed to stay with his family for two days.

Shambhoo Sharma told, “When we reached at the child’s house, his relatives misbehaved with us and even locked me and my team in a room, somehow the Udaipur CWC was coordinated and the police team from Jhadol was sent by the CWC, we were rescued.”

The future of the child is still hanging between his family and the NGO, while his own wish is also overlooked by CWC.

“I want to live with my father”, says the child in a conversation with media.

Shamboo Sharma informed that the two people, one Sunder Lal Jain who is accused of sending the child to Delhi and Yogendra the owner of house where the child was working, were arrested and sent to Jail for six months.
