Krishi Mandi Businessman Protest over Armed Robbery
The Krishi Mandi – the only wholesale market of cereals, grains and vegetable of Udaipur, remained shut for nearly 4 hours to protest the Tuesday evening robbery-shooting incident that injured two businessmen of Krishi Mandi. Businessmen, Shyam Mirani and Pawan Chittora were admitted in GBH American Hospital after being shot by two suspected robbers who were later caught by public, while fleeing from the area.
Mirani is successfully operated and the bullet is removed from his abdomen. Both victims are still under medical observation, but their conditions are said to be out of danger.
More than 300 businessmen kept their establishments closed to protest yesterday’s incidence. Tejraj Singh, Ad. S. P. and Mohammad Yaseen Pathan ADM City went to talk to the Krishi Mandi Association and assured safety and also promised to take strict action against the culprits.
After the assurance of police officers, the work was started at Krishi Mandi.
Police is investigating the main culprit behind the crime, a man identified as Malkhan Singh who is wanted in several criminal cases is believed to be the mastermind of Tuesday’s failed robbery attempt.
According to police, both suspected robbers Sher Bhadur Thakur and Pramod Shrivastav were also wanted in several criminal charges in Uttar Pradesh and they fled to Udaipur after a pressure mounted on them by UP Police.
