Family members of a deceased person were stopped by Lake Patrolling Team when they tried to take bath in the lake as a part of the custom followed after performing last rites.

Upset over the action, the members approached higher administrative officers and were later permitted to perform the custom.

UIT and other civic authorities have installed a special team of guards to prevent pollution of lakes which includes stopping anyone from washing clothes, taking bath or throwing garbage in the lakes.
