Medical Officer Faces Agitation over Closed Dispensary

The Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), Dr. R.N Bairwa faced stern reaction by the locals of Picholi area, following the shutdown of the dispensary from last 15 days.

Incident happened when, group of locals reached RNT Medical College today where the new “Janani Express Ambulance” service was inaugurated by the State Minister Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya; R.N Bairwa was also present there.

Seeing the fuming argument between locals and CMHO, Malviya intervened and assured to re-start the dispensary soon.

According to sources, group led by former Ward Councilor, Fateh Singh Rathore reached RNT College after being informed that Bairwa is also present at the place.

Rathore alleged that Bairwa has not been responding their plea of re-opening the dispensary for past many days while localites of the area are facing trouble due to seasonal flu. The dispensary was the only source to get medical aid in the locality.

As per the administrative officials, the dispensary is not sanctioned by the government but was maintained by UMC. Because there is no additional staff of doctors and nurses, the staff of Surajpol dispensary was deployed there.

According to the localites of the area, they had complained to the CMHO regarding the expensive medicine and other unavailable facilities earlier and because of such continuous requests and complaints, CMHO allegedly ordered to shut the dispensary. Since then locals are facing problems.
