More than 200 houses are constructed illegally on the hillocks behind Vidya Bhawan, Ranigiri School at Badgaon.
After the orders of District Collector Vikas Bhale, a team led by SDM (Girwa) Pushpendra Singh went to clear the encroachment. A police team was also accompanied to control any law and order situation.
According to SDM, as they reached the location, people residing in the area started remonstration; however the situation was brought under control after series of talks. Residents of the area appealed to the administration to allow them 2 more days and on Monday 24th June they will meet collector.
The residents are mostly from Kalbeliya community who are basically nomads, but settled in the pasture land from last 5-6 years.
