Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Park or Musical Fountain Garden at Dudh Talai, once heaven for tourists and locals to enjoy the most scenic beauty of Udaipur, is now turning into a hot spot for drug addicts, alcoholics and anti-social elements.

The vastly starched garden on hillock facing Lake Pichhola is also a best place to see the sunset. At evening, the garden is visited by scores of tourists, but in odd times, either in afternoon or late night, the park accompanies number of appalling activities.

The proof is dozens of empty cigarettes, aluminum foils used to inhale drugs, empty bottles of liquor, syringes etc. are spotted and spread over the garden’s covered areas, where normally no common man would go.

According to sources, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Park was developed by Udaipur Improvement Trust (UIT). The park used to attract hundreds of people every evening due to its musical fountain system.

Later, because of negligence, lack of security and care, cleanliness and maintenance, the beautiful park turned into another example of pathetic and usual ‘System Failure’

Major Concerns

1. No Security Guards

2. No fencing to avoid trespassers

3. Out of order swings (Many)

4. No Cleanliness (Food products are openly sold outside park)

5. Stray Dogs openly roams in garden

6. Besides everything that is mentioned above, Rs.5/- is the entrance fee
