Udaipur police have lodged an FIR against those who allegedly threatened Rajendra Razdan, the complainant who has filed the petition in High Court in opposition of the illegal constructions in the No-Construction-Zone.

Police has also provided additional security to Razdan after being instructed by Superintendent of Police Hari Prasad Sharma.  The orders came into effect after the Chief Secretary C.K Mathew directly intervened in the matter and asked the Divisional Commissioner Subodh Agrawal to provide security to Rajendra Razdan.

According to sources, members of the Lake Conservation Committee including Razdan and Anil Mehta held a meeting with the S.P today regarding security issues.  S.P, Hariprasad Sharma asked the concerned police station to take immediate action to protect Rajendra Razdan.

On the other side, the leader of the group of people against whom the petition was done, he/she went to meet the Dist. Collector. He told the Collector directly that he will knock the door of Supreme Court for the sake of common people.

In his brief talk with UT, he said that the court should define the terms “Restriction” and “Prohibition”.

According to the details provided by the Hathipol Police, on 2nd Oct a few people had allegedly threatened Rajendra Razdan and forced him to sign an affidavit “taking back” his petition against the construction on conservation areas.

As per the Police, Rajendra Razdan was approached by a group of around 50 people, on 2nd October.  He was asked to sign a stamp paper asking for his petition to be revoked.  Fearing the safety of his family, Razdan signed the document and subsequently lodged the FIR with the Hathipol Police station.

However, the revocation of the petition was suspended for the time being after the affidavit was destroyed by the group leader himself in front of police.

Today Hathipol Police has lodged FIR against few people who were allegedly involved in 2nd Oct case. The case was filed under section 147 and 384 of IPC.
