Udaipur Cable TV Association demanded to remove 10 percent of entertainment tax from the cable television channels. The association said that cable TV is not just for entertainment but an economical way to get news and information of whole world.

A memorandum in the name of Rajasthan Chief Minster was presented to the local administrative authorities today. The memorandum says that, the state government has introduced 10 percent of entertainment tax on cable TV in the budget of 2014-15 which is not acceptable.

The association said that on one side government has introduced RTI to make right to information for common man but at the same time making cable TV expensive by introducing entertainment tax on it.

Cable TV is not just a source of entertainment but also plays a vital role in sharing important incidents, events, news and mishaps from all over the world which does not come under the category of entertainment.
