On Friday morning, a number of members of Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha of Udaipur staged a protest outside Ashoka Cinema Hall where they shouted slogans against Khan and tore off posters & hoardings of the film.

With the release of multi-starrer film ‘Diwale’ on Friday, a nationwide protest by various Hindu associations was seen following the controversial statement made by actor Shah Rukh Khan previously related to intolerance.

On Friday morning, a number of members of Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha of Udaipur staged a protest outside Ashoka Cinema Hall where they shouted slogans against Khan and tore off posters & hoardings of the film.

The scene turned ugly when someone from the crowd allegedly threw stone at the cinema hall causing damage to the property. Soon a team of cops including DySP Singh and SHO Surajpol Police station Jitendra Anchaliya rushed to the scene and controlled the rage.

The protesters had blocked the road outside the Ashoka Cinema for which the police allegedly charged lathi slightly on the annoyed mob only to disperse them when the efforts to convince them failed. DySP Singh however, denied the lathi charge saying that the mob was only made to disperse.

On the other side, by looking at the annoyance towards the film in Udaipur, additional police force has been deployed outside PVR Cinemas at Celebration Mall and INOX at Lakecity Mall.

Later, the activists of Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha made an appeal to the Ashoka Cinema to boycott the screening of the film ‘Dilwale.’
