Shortage of Teachers in schools resulting in Protest

Though the new academic session of the government schools has started but the condition of the Sanskrit schools of Udaipur division is still pathetic following the shortages of teachers. The problem is resulting in annoyance among the parents and the guardians of the students.

At least 15 such schools have been locked either by the parents of the school students or by the locals of the area. Besides, 14 more schools are on the verge of being locked up which are facing the similar condition.

Most of the schools that have been locked or will be locked in future are those where there are only 3-4 teachers at the school over hundreds of students. The locals also intimated the Divisional Educational Officer about the issue but nothing effective has been done in this regard, said a villager.

The problem also aggravated after the recent transfer of 25 teachers to Jaipur division from Udaipur and not a single teacher was called here. Also, the reluctance of teachers to teach in villages is a major issue.

Similar incidence of a school getting locked over the shortage of teachers came in light in Gogunda village of Udaipur on Friday. The agitated students along with the villagers displayed their discomfort by locking the school. Soon a police team of Gogunda police station rushed to the scene and attempted to control the situation. After hours of protest the Station House Officer of the Gogunda Police Station Leeladhar reached on the spot and convinced the protestors by making them talk to the DEO.

Pushkar Teli, Gogunda Pradhan also said that their problem will be solved soon and the respective teachers will be appointed in an appropriate manner.
