Students Attack rickshaw Driver when asked to pay Fare
An auto rickshaw driver was allegedly beaten by the some college students over the issue of paying the fare. The situation turned tensed after a large number rickshaw drivers came to support the victim and lodged complaint at Bhopalpura Police station.
An auto rickshaw driver was allegedly beaten by the some college students over the issue of paying the fare. The situation turned tensed after a large number rickshaw drivers came to support the victim and lodged complaint at Bhopalpura Police station.
The incident occurred today morning when few students travelling in rickshaw of Raju Harijan refused to pay the due fare. According to Raju, the same students often used to travel in his rickshaw without paying the fare amount. Today when he insisted them to pay, the students allegedly abused Raju and assaulted him.
Raju, resident of Dungla village drives auto rickshaw on the route to Hiran Magri. He lodged a police complaint against the college student Virendra Singh and some others for beating him and not paying the due fare amount.
According to the police, “The students used Rickshaw for the trip from the BN College to the Nehru hostel for free”.
The members of auto rickshaw association reached the spot and expressed their annoyance and demanded action against the culprits. A team of Police under the directions of Dy. S. P. (North), Anant Kumar and C. I. Bhupalpura, Satish Meena reached the spot and took the situation under control.
No arrests have been made yet.
