More than a hundred students residing at the J.C Boss Hostel near Police Line protested today over the issue of water logging in hostel rooms.
The students blocked the road outside their hostel until the administration assured quick action to solve their problems.
On getting the information, police reached the scene and requested students to end the protest. Later, Mayor Rajni Dangi also reached on the spot and verified the situation.
“The problem occurred in the morning when the rain water overflowing from a Nullah outside the hostel spread all over the premises including the hostel rooms,” said Chandrashekhar Suman, student leader.
“2 months ago we intimated the Parshad, Vandana Porwal about the blockage of the Nullah and also asked them to repair it but no positive step was taken,” said the students.
Mayor Rajni Dangi ordered UMC officials for the cleaning of Nullah and removing water from the rooms of the hostel as well.
