Tens of teachers staged a district level protest on Wednesday outside the Collectorate’s under the banner of ‘Shikshak & Shiksha Bachao Morcha’ against the staffing pattern and extended school timings. The protesters also burnt effigy of the Education Minister.

Teachers representing various associations gathered outside the collector’s office on Wednesday morning and demonstrated there. They handed over a memorandum to the administrative officer which contained many demands.

The protesters informed that few of their major demands are to change the staffing pattern to normal pattern, reconsider the decision of extended school’s timing, appoint teachers as permanent staff who are working since 2012 and cancel the decision of handing over the government school in private hands under the PPP model.

They also highlighted that if their demands are not met soon, they will stage mass protest and violent demonstration in future.
