Udiapol Shopkeepers Protest over ‘Bad’ road

The shopkeepers allege that few days back a local political party also protested for the same reason and then PWD officers visited the location and poured some concrete mixture over the potholes and left it as it is. Afterward no one looked back to make the repairing proper.

Shopkeepers of Udiapol closed their shops for one hour protesting the bad condition of the roads. The shopkeepers, mostly travel agents demanded better road development and sewerage system of the area as it is causing problems for both commuters and shop keepers.

The road was blocked by the protestors holding hands circled around the area and jammed the traffic system. Police administration arrived on the spot and discussed the matter. The protestors also called PWD officer but the officer could not be reached.

Police administration further tackled the situation after assuring the road repairing work to start in next three days. The business association of Udiapol, Auto Rickshaw Association and Taxi Drivers Association jointly protested for the cause.

Being one of the main areas, Udiapol is also the gateway of the city, government bus depot and all private bus and travel agencies offices are located in the area.
