Eve teasing has become one of the biggest problems faced by girls in our cities and there are many cases where victims suffer due to lack of support from police and administration. One such incident of eve teasing came into light in Chittorgarh on the evening of 13th Dec when two girls were on their way to home from the market.
Bhagwan Das Beragi, father of the victim, after getting disappointed from the local administration, knocked the door of the governor yesterday at circuit house while governor was on her 2 days visit to Udaipur.
Explaining the incident to UT, Bhagwan Das said, “When girls told me about the incident, we rushed to the area’s police station to lodge the complaint. But we were asked to compromise with the accused”. No complain was lodged from both of the sides. After this when he disappointedly reached home, he was shocked to see a dozen of women were pelting stones at his house.
Terrified with the incident, Bhagwan Das rushed to the SP of the town for help and police team controlled the situation. But attackers targeted his house again after a few hours.
The continuous attack forced Bhagwan Das to come to Udaipur for shelter. He met and asked for help from IG Police T.C. Damor on 20th Dec 2012. Since then, he and his family have been circling around collector’s office to seek justice.
Yesterday, victim’s family tried to meet Governor Alva but was not allowed to meet her personally. Their application was taken by Governor’s subordinates who assured that the message would be delivered to madam.
