Rajasthan Raises Service Bond for MD-MS Students by up to 5 Times

Udaipur, Sept 4, 2025 - Doctors completing their MD-MS from government medical colleges in Rajasthan will now face stricter penalties if they refuse to serve in government jobs after graduation. The Medical Education Department has issued an order increasing the service bond amount by up to five times.

For high-demand specialties like Dermatology (Skin), Radiology, Gynaecology and General Medicine, the bond amount has been raised to Rs 1.5 crore.

In Basic Science subjects like Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and PSM (Preventive and Social Medicine), the bond amount is now Rs 25 lakh.
Earlier, the bond amount for these two categories was only Rs 30 lakh and Rs 5 lakh, respectively.

For specialties like Orthopedics, Pediatrics, TB and Chest, Ophthalmology, Traumatology, General Surgery and Psychiatry, the bond amount has been increased to Rs 1 crore, up from the earlier Rs 20 lakh.

Similarly, for fields like ENT, Emergency Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, Anesthesiology, Palliative Medicine, Pathology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Immunohematology and Microbiology, the bond has gone up from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 50 lakh.

According to department officials, the move is aimed at ensuring availability of specialist doctors across government healthcare institutions in the State.
