In a tragic road accident, an overcrowded jeep was hit by a truck resulting in the immediate death of 9 people including 3 kids. Two people later succumbed to their injuries after admitting to hospital while 10 others sustained injuries. The incident occurred in the evening at Patiya village, approximately 16km ahead of Kherwada.

One woman and two children were admitted at MB Hospital in a critical condition while others were admitted in Kherwada.

According to the police, a passenger Jeep carrying more than 20 people was on its way to Sarera Village. While crossing the Patiya village, a truck approached from the front and collided with the Jeep. The impact was so intense that 9 people, including the Jeep driver, died on the spot while two others died on their way to the hospital.

Six of the deceased, which includes a number of women and children, have been identified so far. These victims are Kavli (25), Shantilal (5), Sarita (1), Manisha (15), Saroj (30), Manilal (34). Other victims have not yet been identified.

Most of the victims are relatives and were on their way home after attending a wedding ceremony.
