150 kilogram of impure Mawa (Dried Whole Milk) has been destroyed under Food Security Act. The mawa was seized from different sweet shops of the city during a raid conducted by Medical and Health Department.

The mawa was intended for preparing sweets, following the festival of Diwali. The cheap quality of mawa is less expensive than the pure mawa but hazardous to health.

According to Anil Bhardwaj, Food Safety Officer, during the raid at sweet shop located in Cement Gali, Dholi Bawdi 150 kg of contaminated mawa was found. A sample of mawa is send to the laboratory while rest of the product has been destroyed.

Bhardwaj also informed that the series of inspection will be continue for more days.
