Four members of an inter-state gang indulge in smuggling sandalwood are arrested by Dabok Police on Saturday during a raid at a Farmhouse. Police has also seized more than 3 quintal of sandal logs.

All accused are booked under several sections of IPC. A ket accused identified as Imitiyaz managed to escape during the raid while his aids Nadeem Mohammed, Mohammed Ashraf from Ayad and Dharma Gamti and Thavra Gameti from Nai were arrested.

As per the S.P Rajendra Prasad Goyal,  the Dabok police on Saturday received information about a gang involved in cutting of sandal wood and smuggling to different areas from a farm house situated at Dabok.

Upon getting the information the dabok police raided the farm house while all of the accused were busy in cutting and packing sandal wood logs.

According to the SP the arrested accused are all the members of an inter-state gang involved in sandal wood smuggling and are having various cases registered on their names at various police station of the city.

All arrested accused are still under police interrogation, while massive man hunt is launched to catch the absconding accused , said SP Goyal.
