After series of talks and negotiations by administrative officers, the acid attack survivor Shalu Jain finally agreed to bring her hunger strike to an end. Shalu has been protesting outside collectorate since 12th Feb demanding a fulfillment of the promises made by government to aid her.

The condition of Shalu was deteriorating as she had gone without food for last 24 hours. A team of doctors examined her and recommended an end to her hunger strike.

ADM City Mohammad Yaseen Pathan, Ad. S.P Lakhman Singh and other officers held a series of discussions with her. Finally, after a written assurance by A.D.M City, Shalu took the call of ending the strike.

Shalu Jain was promised a house and cash compensation after she was attacked in 2009 at Tekri Link Road. She was protesting as she is yet to get any compensation from the Government.
