Advocates on Strike, warns of violent protests if demands not met
Advocates in whole Rajasthan went on a day’s strike today under the banner of Bar Council of Rajasthan to pressurize the government to meet certain demands. They also warned the government of violent protests on 6th March if no action is taken over their demands.

More than a hundred advocates in the city demonstrated and presented a memorandum at the collector’s office addressing the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot.
In the memorandum, advocates said that they are an important part of the society but they still are neglected by the government, “although there are so many welfare schemes made for us by the government but still we cannot avail the benefits from them”.
They demanded allotment of land to all the advocates of Rajasthan on nominal rates, a monthly stipend of Rs 3000 to all those advocates who are working for less than 5 years, formation of welfare fund in which an equal amount of money be deposited by the government as deducted from the salaries of the advocates.
They also requested for – the facility of Library to advocate associations at District and Tehsil level, pension to all the Advocates of Rajasthan and computerization of all the courts should be done.
In today’s demonstration, Ratan Rao Singh, Senior Advocate, Bharat Kumar Joshi, President of Bar Association Udaipur and Bahrat Kumar Vaishnav, General Secretary of Bar Association Udaipur were present with other advocates of the Udaipur court.
