Now after Kota and Jaipur, the catering services will be available for the people of Udaipur in their social functions till 11 PM from 1 November onward. The decision was made public by the members of Udaipur Catering Dealer’s Association in a press meet held on Thursday at 100 feet road.

Caterers known for serving best food items in a wedding function, at a birthday party or at an engagement ceremony came forward on Thursday with a demand of limiting the working hours of the catering staff till 11 PM as against working for late hours.

On the occasion, Virendra Bapna, Chief Convener of Udaipur Catering Dealer’s informed that media that a decision was made with the association that no catering staff will work after 11 PM from 1st November onward as working late hours is affecting their social lives. At times, they are faced with police interrogation as well while returning to their houses at wee hours of the night.

Bapna while addressing media about the major challenges faced by catering staff highlighted that usually the food for any social function is prepared till 5 in the evening and it is a difficult task to keep it fresh till late hours. In few cases the tastes change and the organizers shout at the catering staff for no reason. It is also seen in many wedding parties and functions that the entire staff has to starve until the family members have their food. Moreover, the conveyance facility is also absent in many cases.

The invitation to criminal activities at late hours was also a concern highlighted by Bapna along with noise pollution problems created by loud noises and fuel generators.

Bapna at end urged the city people to cooperate with the changes the association is about to make and be a part to make Udaipur more beautiful and a peaceful place to live.
