Bankers protest, banks to remain close on 7th Jan

The bank officials collected on the street of Bank Tiraha in protest of the delayed 10th wage settlement. Under the banner of Indian Bank and UFBU (United Forum of Banks Udaipur) they held this nationwide protest in Udaipur.

UPDATE: The strike has been postponed as instructed by heads centered at Mumbai. Due to positive remarks discussed in the meeting, the bank officials have decided to keep the banks open tomorrow i.e., 7th January 2015.

The bank officials collected on the street of Bank Tiraha in protest of the delayed 10th wage settlement. Under the banner of Indian Bank and UFBU (United Forum of Banks Udaipur) they held this nationwide protest in Udaipur.

P.S Khinchi co-coordinator of UFBU informed that the bank remained close for half hour for the protest today. Tomorrow all the banks will remain close until Thursday.

The bank officials stated that one day protest will result in a loss of Rs. 200-250 crore. Few private banks are also participating in the protest.

According to the officials, the Indian Bank and UFB are holding a meeting in Mumbai in accordance to which this protest is being held. They have placed their demand to the government.
