Banks in the city were closed today after a strike was called out by United Forum of Bank Union for several pending demands with the administration which includes payment and other management policies.

All private and government banks remained closed today following the strike. According to the information provided by bank employees, a group of people first gathered outside HDFC Bank, Durga Nursery Road and started protesting against government.
Top demands include, conclusion of 10th two-sided agreement, implementing 5 day week schedule, job opportunities to the deceased employee’s family member, economical reformation which are against public interest should be closed, stop giving banking license to industrialists and prohibition of foreign banks.
The concerned bank employees were annoyed over continuously delaying resolution.
