Commissioner visits old city, expresses concern
On the second day of his visit to Udaipur’s Lake side areas, especially the No-Construction-Zone that is creating potential risk to the city’s infrastructure, Dinesh Mehta, the High Court’s appointed commissioner on Conservation of Lakes examined the old city area today and listened to the concerns raised by locals.

Dinesh Mehta was accompanied by Rajni Dangi, Municipal Council Chairperson and high placed officials of UIT took a first look at the low-lying areas including Maldas Street, Jagdish Chowk, Samor Bagh and moved towards Hathi Pol from where he walked down to Silawat Wadi, Bichhu Ghati, Jat Wadi and also checked the walled city boundary (Shehar Kot).
Many people of the area gathered to discuss their problems. The Commissioner listened to everyone but didn’t comment on anything. Mehta might visit Fateh Sagar and Pichola during evening.
