Daytime curfew Relaxed for four hours in Kotdi

The curfew had been relaxed for four hours from 12 noon to 4 p.m. to provide relief to the people of the village as the situation has improved. Curfew was clamped in Kotdi on Tuesday midnight, following large scale violence by bifurcating communities a day earlier.
Three were killed in the riots while many sustained injuries who are being treated in Udaipur. Bodies of the two deceased had been cremated at Mohedi while Firoz aka Raja’s body was buried at a bordering place in Javra in Madhya Pradesh. The situation is totally under control as there has been no violence for last 48 hours.
Though the curfew had been relaxed to facilitate people to buy essential commodities for day time, section 144 of CRPC continued to be in force, said police officials. If no violence is reported on the third day, the curfew may be lifted by Saturday, tipped sources. Though the administration made arrangements to provide grains and other needful items but the villagers themselves were reportedly seen extending help to each other by offering eatables and other essential commodities like milk etc to the needy ones.
With majority of the households having their own live stock and storage of grain, survival is not at all viewed as an issue, informed sources. However laborers are finding it hard to live since they cannot go out to find work in nearby towns or cities.
Shops and outlets at Arnod, Moheda, Ghodagatta, Devaldi, Salamgarh, Dalot, Dorana and surrounding villages continued to be closed for the third consecutive day on Friday. Few persons involved in the violence have been detained at police station, however the official statement of arrest is yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, total 5 cases of violence, one in Salamgarh and 4 in Arnod have been registered. Police has laid check points on various areas adjoining MP border for seizure of illegal arms.
Special patrolling and Nakabandi has been planned from Choopna to Bhavgarh, the route for the arms smuggle, police teams have been deployed here to closely cover the borders.
