The incident occurred after a resident of Dungarpur, Ramesh Meena, died in a freak accident at Bawalwada, while he was returning to his home.The locals of the area and the relatives of the deceased got annoyed due to delay in his postmortem and pelted stones on the Kherwada police station and set bikes on fire.
Three Policemen were injured in the incident and the Police had to resort to tear gas attacks to ward of the crowd. Several people were arrested.
Ramesh Meena uses to work at Ahemadabad and two of his co- workers were residents of the Bawalwara. The day before yesterday, in the evening, he was drove them home on his bike, at Bawalwada. After dropping them he was going back to his home in Dungarpur and while on the way, he met with an accident which proved to be fatal. His body was kept at the local police station for the whole night and yesterday morning it was shifted to the mortuary at Kherwada village.
All this protocol caused a delay of 4-5 hours,and till 3pmyesterday his postmortem was not done. The deceased relatives took the body to the Kherwada Police station and protested. The situation turned tense and resulted in stone pelting. The ADSP Tribal and his force rushed to the scene and controlled the situation somehow and handed his body to his family after postmortem, as updated by the police.
Police also informed that during the protest, the local rural people blocked the road for long because of which the traffic got affected.
