Devilal Gameti Murder: Community members warn for violent protest
The agitated members of the community protested outside the collectorate regarding the unsolved murder of Devilal Gameti, whose body was found on 29th Nov 2013 after he went missing a week before.
The agitated members of the community protested outside the collectorate regarding the unsolved murder of Devilal Gameti, whose body was found on 29th Nov 2013 after he went missing a week before.
Three investigation officers have been changed to solve the murder mystery but police has not been successful yet. However, higher police officials gave nothing more than assurance to the victim’s family.
Bheel Samaj Ekta Manch, a collaborative group of dozens of small mandals representing nearby villages and tehsils of Udaipur came under one banner and decided to go for violent protest if the family of victim didn’t get justice.
Today, around 100 men and women demonstrated outside collectorate and warned the administration. A memorandum was also presented to S.P stating that if the accused of Devilal’s murder is not arrested within 15 days then they will start indefinite protest.
“We will stop highways connecting the city, and will gather outside collectorate with our livestock” said the memorandum.
S.P Ajaypal Lamba said, “The case is on priority and the investigation team is trying to solve it as soon as possible.”
