The atmosphere of the ward no 19 of the MB Hospital got tensed on Wednesday afternoon when the attendants of a patient got into a fight with the hospital staff after the patient died during treatment; holding the negligence of the staff as the main reason behind the outburst.

Panna lal Jain (85) of Itawa village (Chittorgarh) was hospitalized on Saturday 9th January in ICU ward at around 2.30 pm in concern for his severe intestinal problems. But on Wednesday, in the absence of attendants, he was shifted to the general ward where he passed away, said Basanti lal Jain, younger brother of the deceased man.

Rakesh Jain, nephew of Panna lal held the hospital staff responsible as according to the senior doctor, the patient was to be kept under observation in ICU for 15 days after his operation. He further added that his uncle was shifted to the general ward after the arrival of another patient.

The annoyed relatives of the deceased man questioned the hospital staff on their actions and demanded strict actions against them.

Later, Dr. Tarun Gupta, Superintendent of MB hospital and Unit In charge Dr. Siddharth reached ward no 19 for the verification.

While addressing the media, Dr. Tarun Gupta said, “In such circumstances, the patient is not usually shifted to from the ICU but in this case, the reason is uncertain. It will be cleared once the verification is being done with the Unit in charge and the staff.”
