Dr. Girija Vyas, Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, had a conversation with Journalist of Udaipur today at the lake city press club wherein she discussed about various welfare schemes of ruling government.

Girija informed press that a new loan scheme named as Rajeev Gandhi Loan Scheme  has been started by the government under which the applicant will get loan up to Rs 5 lacs on house worth Rs 8  lacs and will also get subsidy on it.

She also said that this time she was focusing on the up-liftment of hawkers so as they can improve their income and standard of living.  As part of this, a law relating to hawkers will soon be proposed by the Government. She further added that a special loaning scheme has been started for hawkers so that they can make investments in their working place.

Girija further said that currently she is focusing on implementation of National Urban Livelihood mission which was started by country’s President in the year 2009.
