The government employed cleaning staff at Nagar Nigam have presented a memorandum under banner of Dr. Ambedkar Mewar Panchayat, Udaipur to the Mayor Rajni Dangi in relation to the appointment of divorced and widow women for the job.
The memorandum given to the Mayor was on the name of Chief Minster. Therein it has been mentioned that, in the Nagar Nigam (UMC), there are 109 posts available under the quota for widows and divorced women. However, at present, only 53 ladies were working there and the remaining 56 positions were lying vacant.
Through the memorandum they highlighted that, they were happy with the previous decisions of the Nigam that were taken in their favor and this time also they are simply requesting to fill the vacant positions with women under the said category. The women are in need and this job will allow them to bear the expenses of their family members in the absence of their husbands or any other bread winner.
The memorandum was given to the Mayor at the Nagar Nigam office today morning in the presence of Dal Chand Chauhan, Chief Patron of the Association, Pushkar Chauhan, President and Madan Lal Kheradi, Acting President of the Association.
Pushkar Chauhan said that, today they gathered at the Nigam’s office to inform the Mayor that the poor widows and divorced women of Valmiki community were not getting jobs in the absence of the certificates to prove their status. In such circumstances they could not take advantage of the scheme started by C.M.
The issue has arisen because many of the ladies were illiterate and did not know how to get the certificates.
