Plasma therapy is being widely practiced for patients infected with corona virus. Families and friends have been running from pillar to post to search for plasma donors to save their loved ones.

Experts have warned against plasma therapy stating that plasma therapy may turn out to be counter effective and raise chances of more virulent strains developing.  In the letter addressed to Principal Scientific Advisor, they have urged that plasma therapy be removed immediately as it raises the possibility of more virulent strains developing which can fuel the pandemic.

The team of experts also said that it is only causing undue harassment for families of the patients who keep running here and there in search of donors. Even the Covid-19 survivors are being forced to donate plasma.

Those who have already donated plasma are encouraging others to do the same. Unchecked plasma could be contributing to more mutations of corona virus. The experts have expressed their concerns over families who are subjected to black marketing for plasma as the supplies are extremely short with the growing corona cases.

As an immediate step in this direction, scientists and experts now want the government to remove plasma therapy as an option. Also that the families are forced to shell out a big fat bundle of currency notes to obtain plasma which is again quite painful after the huge hospital bills and expensive medications during and post covid treatment.
